First, some good news:

After a week of heated debate, the judges of our poetry competition have finally rendered their verdict!

Third place goes to John V:

This pastor has a sense of humor, of that he has no lack,

But the strength of our church is Christ; Christ is the strength of our pack.

Second place goes to Pete & Birgit M:

We colour, we wiggle, eat candies and giggle, wishing we had a snack,

but the strength of our church is Christ, Christ is the strength of our pack

And first place goes to Josh & Nicole and their boys!

Though no chilli cookoffs, potlucks, or post-church snack,

The strength of our church is Christ; Christ is the strength of our pack.

Well done everyone!

A Devotional Thought for Today:

Romans 8:38-39 “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

One way to deal with anxiety is to pretend that God will never let bad things happen to people who have faith in Him. The problem with that strategy is that it’s simply not true. Sooner or later, bad things happen to everyone.

A better way to deal with anxiety is to turn “what ifs” into “even ifs.” As children of God we know that even if bad things happen, we will still be okay. Even if our worst fears are realized, nothing, no thing at all in all of creation, will be powerful enough to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

May that promise from God provide real comfort to you today.

Grace and Peace,
Pastor Jason
