A Devotional Thought for Today:

Hebrews 10:24-25 “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”

I keep in touch with a lot of pastors both locally here in Leduc and in the States. And multiple times during the past two weeks I’ve heard pastors express some form of this concern: “Now that we’re live-streaming our services, will our congregations ever come back to meet in person once this crisis is over?”

I have to say, I’m not the least bit concerned about that. In fact, the question never even crossed my mind. I am so thankful to be serving at a church where the members of the congregation love each other and love being together. That’s truly a gift from the Lord.

We’ll get through this together and we’ll continue to think of creative ways to maintain our fellowship. And then when this passes I have no doubt that we’ll all gather together and raise our voices in worship and give hugs and handshakes and drink great coffee and it will be sweet (the fellowship, not the coffee). I can almost hear it now. I can’t wait.

In the meantime, I look forward to “seeing” you on Sunday. Though you won’t actually be in your seats, I can picture where each of you normally sit. And I’ll hold that picture in my mind until the Lord makes it a reality once again.

I would like to reiterate that if you have needs, please make them known. That could mean physical needs but also emotional needs. These are difficult times for all of us and we’re all processing this in our own way and if this load is sitting heavy on you, then let’s connect and talk and pray together. I’ve been making lots of phone calls lately and I will continue to do so but don’t wait for me to call if you’re feeling alone or if you need support then call me or your district elder or someone else in the church. We will walk through this together in the strength of the Lord.

Be blessed.

See you Sunday.
